How has your experience equipped you for your role?
Over my working career, I have gained experience in a very wide spectrum of roles relating to Human Resources. This has included Training, Industrial Relations, Organisational Development, Talent management etc.
What is your vision for the role of HR in Hulamin?
Firstly, I believe that our employees are definitely our greatest asset. There are so many issues that, when well managed, will allow and encourage our employees to focus on their performance and development. I also strongly believe that the HR team must be supportive of line management, working closely with and in the operations so that HR is an integrated part of managing the business.
What challenges do you see having a major impact on Hulamin in the coming years?
All people, but especially in South Africa, need hope. In South Africa, this includes both black and white, but for different reasons. We have to be sensitive to the context of our business and hopefully provide a vision of hope for people through employment, enterprise development, corporate social investment etc.
Kenneth has been married for 26 years to Nelisa. They have a daughter and three sons, Nomfundo, Xolani, Lwazi, Nhlakanipho, and Khulani. Kenneth enjoys golf, soccer and cars.
